The Valley Railway is a defunct rail system on the island of Songo.First built in 1918,it was first run only as a mining railway with man pushed and Horse pulled wagons, some of which are still in service today on the North Western Railway. Then they had no thought of passenger service. In 1919 they bought an engine named Bort and bought a few more as the years went by. The following year they began passenger service. In 1939 freight and passenger service altogether was declining, and Bort was sold.In 1958 the railway closed altogether, and the engines wee sold to the Songo Commercial Railway Co.Part of the line was later re-opened as a branch on the SCRO.It connected to the NWR at Newsdale.
